All 4 together Again!

1/24/09 Okay, this is a terrible picture of me, but really cute of them! I was trying not to laugh because they were squirming all over and they are really hard to hold on to now that they are getting bigger and stronger! I was doing kangaroo time with Kai and Bevan just before, so that is why I have the beautiful gown on, open in the front. Lovely!!

1/24/09 Here is a close-up of all of them snuggling. They will all be put in the same bed next week together IF Kai's eye infection is cleared up. That will be great because we know they miss each other. From left to right is Bevan, Kai, and Neely

And......Bevan does not sleep ALL the time!! She is just beautiful with her eyes open or closed!

A little update as of today 1/28/09..............Bevan weighs 5 lbs 3.5 oz, Kai weighs 4 lbs 1 oz, and Neely weighs 4 lbs 15.5 oz. They are all growing well. They measure their length, head and abdomen circumfrence each monday and Bevan grew 1.5 cm and Neely and Kai both grew 1 cm!! Bevan is in a bassinet, Neely in a crib and Kai got his top popped on his incubator 2 days ago!! They will all be put in the same bed soon we hope! We will keep you updated as much as possible since the internet is working now at the house. Please keep us in your prayers that our little ones stay healthy. There is a lot of bugs and flu going around right now that we hear about constantly which makes us worry. We have comfort that the Lord will take care of us and that is a wonderful thing! But.....prayer is ALWAYS good too! We love you all and miss you too. We are thinking of all of you daily.

Updates and More Pics!!

Hi everyone, all the babies are awesome. They are still growing and doing well. Bevan and Neely both have their lids to their incubators popped so they can get used to maintaining their own temperature. Kai is still too small for this. They all had their hearing test today and all passed. Kai will have one more hearing test because of his low birth weight which is routine. They are all IV free and Neely had her nasal canula removed last week. Thanks again for all your prayers. We don't mind at all if anyone wants to call us and check on the babies but we do ask that everyone understand that the NICU is restricted only for close family at this time. The babies have compromised immune systems as they are preemies and we have to be very careful during flu and RSV season not to introduce them to sickness. Boo Hoo no fun we know!! Thanks for understanding that we would love to pass them around to everyone, but it will just have to be a few more months before that is possible! We want them to get out of the NICU and STAY out of there! You all are SO wonderful and we are so glad you are looking at out blog. We love all of the comments and love you all very much! We'll keep you all updated as much as possible.

This is the bedding for the babys' room. Jeremy's grandmother, Betty, made it. Neely's is just like Bevan's but we only put one of each in the picture. We love the bedding SO much and are very thankful that she is so talented and willing to make this for our babies. This is a special gift that we will always cherish. Thanks Grandma Wonnell

This is Mommy changing Neely on 1-08-09. It takes some talent to change a baby through these little holes in the side of the incubator. It totally goes against all we know about changing diapers!! We are pretty good at it now.

This is my mom, Grammy, holding Bevan for the first time on 1-07-09. This was the first time the nurse offered any of the grandparents a chance to hold. Lucky her!! As you can see she did not resist! She sure did a lot for us to ensure these babies got here safely. She did all you do for your daughter when she is pregnant. I could not ask for a better Mom. Thanks Mom. We love you!!

1-10-09 This is typical of Bevan. She is all dressed up and just relaxing as usual. She is very layed back just like her Daddy! She could care less what goes on around her.

This is Jeremy's mom, Granna, and Neely on 1-10-09. She sure did make us a lot of soup when I was pregnant and it worked! They are absolutely beautiful!! Neely knows her Granna and had no trouble falling asleep in her arms.

This is Poppy holding little man for the first time on 1-10-09. Did someone say they favor one another? I think it if the side profile!! Thanks Poppy, Kai sure is a cutie and he has the most animated facial expressions we have ever seen. His little smile and glow is contagous as his Poppy's smile is to everyone also.

This is Daddy and Kai on 1-14-09. He always eats well for his Daddy and he rarely goes to sleep after eating. He is so happy and just looks around checking it all out. We hope he stays that way!

This is Kay Kay and Bevan on 1-16-09. She got to feed Bevan, but we all know Bevan is a little lazy and wants to be fed the easy way through her NG tube. Hmm, that is probably why my Dad wanted to feed Neely. Neely is the big eater these days! They'll compete for lots in their life I am sure but I didn't think it would start this early! Kay Kay did a wonderful job and Bevan just wanted to cuddle and not much else!

1-16-09 This is Dad, Papa "G", feeding Neely while Kay Kay fed Bevan. Neely drank her entire bottle and Bevan only drank 3-4 cc's. However, Bevan's top was popped then and she had to use most of her energy to stay warm while little Miss Neely had her top still shut so she was staying warm without much effort. This makes a difference. I have to say though, Neely has never drank her bottle that well for me, so maybe it is a Papa "G" thing.

This is Neely on 1-17-09. She just wanted to say "Hello" to everyone looking at her picture on the blog!! She is absolutely beautiful!

1-17-09 This is Bevan.......asleep again!! Is she not so cute all dressed up in her Valentine blankets. She can sleep through all the loud noises all around her! She does not get that from her mother.

This is Kai on 1-18-09 after his diaper change, temperature check, and bottle. See......I told you he is happy just laying there looking around. He is the cutest thing in his little sleeper and he smiles all the time and flirts with all the nurses and especially with his Mommy. He is definitely my little man!

This is Kai on 1-19-09 after his Daddy fed him. Look at that messy face. He is still so happy and wide awake and loves his milk mustache!! We think it is cute too!

This is Neely on 1-21-09. She kept hiding her face under her hat. Janeen said she caught her several times pulling her hat all the way down under her chin. She had had enough of the NICU for one day and wanted to hide and get away from it all! We love our nurses and they are all a blessing, but sometimes it does get a little stressful and we all need to escape!!

This is Mommy feeding Neely the easy way on 1-21-09. They were tired this day, so the got fed through their tubes. The babies are aloud so many bottle feedings per shift and each must only be bottle fed for 30 min at a time b/c after that they are burning too many calories and need to be tube fed. We want them to gain weight and not burn it off right now!!

We have been very busy! All of the babies are doing well and the docs are so pleased. Dr.Rojas
calls them his little stars!! They are all gaining weight and are now back above their birth weights. As of 1-14-09, wednesday, Bevan weighed 4 lb. 4oz, Kai 3lb. 1oz., and Neely 4lb!! We have been in the room for the last couple times when the docs did rounds and it was very simple. They went over all the stats and then said they are doing wonderful and we could not ask for more!! Praise the Lord!!

We want to thank all of you for your comments and also thank all of our NICU nurses for taking wonderful care of our babies. We have come to know all of you and we are so greatful that we can leave there at any time and feel secure that our babies are safe and spoiled also!! Ya'll are all awesome people!

Also....IF you want a shirt, please let my mom or Debbie Flowers or my Aunt Angelia know. You can call them at home and leave a message or on their cell phones. Only call my mom's cell. We need these orders and money to one of them by January 19th. T-shirts are $12.00 and hoodie sweatshirts are $18.00. We got the girls hot pink shirts and guys gray. The only thing is that the writing has to be black and the hoodies do not come in hot pink. If you want a different color t-shirt just ask if they can get it in the color but the writing has to be black b/c the design is already made. I will not post their phone numbers here, but I am betting any of you that are interested already know this info anyway! Thanks, Courtney

Mama and her babies all together again for the first time! They are in order from left to right as they were from top to bottom in her belly! The order as we know in there was Neely, Bevan, then Kai. I cannot explain the feeling of being able to hold them all together and you can tell how comfy they are and how much we all love being together!




Is that a proud Daddy or what?! He was the first to hold all 3! There is Neely, Kai, and Bevan from left to right. Baby boy doesn't mind being in the middle. Daddy said this is his grand slam for the year. Last year it was grand slam with turkeys and this year babies!!

Poppy was the third and last to get a quick chance to get his arms around all 3 of them. I don't think he enjoyed this at all!!! We were so proud he could be there for this. Grandma and Grandpa Flowers, Debbie (Granna) Flowers, and my Mom Debbie (Grammy) were all there to see this too!! Mommy cried as soon as they were handed to their Daddy and so did 2 of the nurses, Amy and Michelle. The charge nurse who made this possible and whose idea it was is awesome. Her name is Belinda. All the staff gathered around us to see this. We'll never forget these moments!!!

These are the t-shirts that I designed for our babies and for all of the family to wear at the hospital. Thanks Mom and Angelia for getting these for us and all you do!! We love you. I am sure we will order more so if any of you want one just let us know and we'll fix you up!!!

Babies Are Here!! Happy New Year!!

Neely Grace 1-2-2009

Hey everyone,



What a surprise! One of my waters broke on January 1, 2009 at 3:33 pm! How odd! I called my mom first and her cell phone call was received at 3:33! Bevan was baby B and was in the center of Kai and Neely. She decided she was ready to start the new year and kicked her water open!! Ofcourse, we thought it was Kai since he was the lowest baby (baby A). I will give you all a brief summary of that long day........ As soon as my water broke, Jeremy and I made a mad dash through the house and gathered my things. I called Jeremy's mom Debbie to come over also. She asked if I was sure my water had broke and I said yes b/c there was no doubt!! My mom called Dad and Karen so they could get headed to Nashville right away and be there when the helicopter landed so I would not be alone. Jeremy, Mom, Gracey, Debbie, Rick, and I headed to WBH. We were there for 45 min to an hour and then I was air lifted to Vanderbilt in Nashville, TN. My sister Leah lives in Nashville and was able to meet me there in case Jeremy did not arrive in time for the c-section. The ride was crazy and there were many scary times as Kai was making his way into the world really fast. I'll have to give details later. Anyway, the Lord once again watched over all of us and we made it to Vanderbilt with all 3 babies still in my belly!! Dad, Karen, Mitchell, and Leah all made it to the hospital as well as my friend Niki so I was relieved to see all of them when I arrived. Jeremy and the rest of the parents and Gracey made it there in time for the surgery! YAY!! The medical staff was awesome and I never knew how fast someone could put in an epidural until now. I almost couldn't follow the directions fast enough!! Anyway, Bevan was born at 9:44 pm, Kai at 9:45 pm, and Neely at 9:47 pm. It was funny b/c we thought Kai would be born first since he was the lowest, but as they annonced baby A was a girl, we did not know what to think. Jeremy's eyes got huge and we both thought we were having 3 girls!! Then Dr.Rush announced baby B was a boy!! We were relieved although we would not care a bit what the sex of any of them were. I do think we have had enough surprises lately!! Here are some pics of our precious babies and I hope all of you enjoy them like we have so far!! Please keep praying for us. The babies are all steadily progressing in the NICU so far so thank you all for praying for us this far. Thank you for all of your support and love. We could not have made it this far without each of you! We love you. Mostly, thank you Lord for blessing us and loving His children so much.. Thank you Lord for our miracles and for saving each of us. We will be in Nashville at the Ronald McDonald House which is also a blessing b/c it is free of cost.
